Trail Riders Life has confirmed through reliable sources that the Hatfield-McCoy Trail (HMT) System will be expanding soon. HMT is currently working on taking over the outlaw trails in the Gibert, WV area and will be adding them to the Warrior Trail System.
After years of riding, Trail Riders Life expands to provide trail reviews, lodging reviews, and a place for sincere trail riders to stay updated on the latest trail news and events. We're also allowing our Gold members to send in pics and videos of their trail rides. Additionally, we're starting our own line of awesome trail gear! Please consider supporting our efforts. We appreciate it and look forward to meeeting all you fellow Trail Riders!
Yes, Winter is just around the corner. The most dreaded time of year because it limits the amount of time we can put toward Trail Riding. But it's okay. Winter only lasts a few months and although we can't ride as much, WE CAN STILL RIDE!
Some checklist items before you head out in cold weather:
1. Before heading out, make sure the trail is safe to ride on.
2. Dress in layers (it does work to keep you warmer).
3. Ride with a friend or other family member who has their own separate ride.
4. Make sure someone knows where you are riding and when you're expected to be back. If you break down or get stuck, it will get really cold quickly and any help will take longer to reach you.
5. Bring your phone with gps just in case you get stuck or break down.
6. Give yourself extra time to get back to your final destination because it will take longer when there is ice or snow.
7. Don't be too brave. There's nothing wrong with turning around or hitting a lessor trail to ensure you have a safe ride.
By following these safety guidelines (and other common sense safe riding techniques),you should have a safe, enjoyable ride.
